Faith Children's Village has plans to begin using a Wood-Mizer sawmill to cut lumber. The proceeds of this will help offset operational costs at the Village. An initial investment of $10k is required to get this project off the ground.

"I trained several of our men here in Kamea-Land to run the sawmill. This little 10 hp diesel just chugs along and makes beautiful wood out of rough trees in the jungle. As for the safety equipment...these guys have never worn shoes before, and when I gave them the safety equipment, they kept taking them off and leaving them stacked in the corner. You can only tell them to "be safe" so many times. Instead, they utilize common sense. Here we are cutting wood for the GuestHouse. (We have several missionaries that will be coming new to Papua New Guinea in the next year and they will need a place to call home until they can build their own.)"

Friends of Hurricane Creek have been provided the tools to demonstrate that there is a better way to handle tree debris from storms. Many thanks to ALTEC Environmental Products for making dreams come true! We will use a Wood-Mizer to mill the trees that are suitable for lumber. The rest we will use the donated ALTEC DC 1317 chipper to reduce it to useable chips for mulch!

Wood-Mizer helps out with every boy's dream treehouse project!

Glen Chapman interviews people who work at or use wood produced at Kikongo's saw mill, and finds out how it has helped the area. The sawmill has raised the standard of living by providing lumber and products for the people in the area. Towards the end of the video, you'll see boards being passed forward in church as their tithe!
