About Wood-Mizer Canada
Wood-Mizer Canada History
Did you ever wonder why all Wood-Mizer portable sawmill models begin with the letters "LT"? It may seem obvious to those who know the history of Wood-Mizer, but for those who don't, "LT" are the initials for the two inventors - Don Laskowski and Dan Tekulve.
With great vision, these men invented a variety of products that they successfully manufactured and marketed paving the way for their pinnacle product - a portable sawmill. With this invention the partners made converting logs to lumber a safe, one-person job. Now the company has earned the reputation as the world's largest manufacturer of portable band sawmills having sold more than 40,000 units worldwide.
Just five years after Wood-Mizer introduced the first portable sawmill, the company founded Wood-Mizer Canada. In short order, the Canadian headquarters for Wood-Mizer was established in Manilla, Ontario and the first four mills were delivered. That was in November 1987 and by 1988 Wood-Mizer Canada was incorporated and growing at a steady pace.
Today, Wood-Mizer Canada headquarters continues to be full service and customer focused. The team at Wood-Mizer Canada family goes beyond just meeting customer needs to making sure customers have the tools to succeed.
Every Wood-Mizer location keeps the tradition of Wood-Mizer Canada the same: our customer is always first," says Dorian Lavallee, Canadian Sales Manager. In addition to serving customers and providing sawyers a closer place to see mill demonstrations and receive new mill training, the branches also stock common DoubleHard blades as well, common sawmill parts for emergency service.

Wood-Mizer believes that each and every mill owner is an extension of the corporate family - a philosophy that makes customers feel right at home.
Major Products
Wood-Mizer sawmills are designed to meet diverse customer demands from lower horsepower manual mills to high horsepower hydraulic mills (portable and stationary). From hobbyist to corporate business, Wood-Mizer's narrow band sawmills respond to customer needs.
The company also manufactures narrow band, thin kerf blades making them the only sawmill maker to also manufacture blades. These blades feature high quality steel and withstand rigorous testing to ensure quality and durability.
To add value to sawn boards, Wood-Mizer offers a twin blade edger, a basic line of wood drying kilns and a four, five and six head Moulder. Wood-Mizer is focused on serving customers with " Forest to Final Form" needs.
